How does Central Securities protect my personal information? 

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings. We authorize our employees, agents and contractors to get your information only when needed to do their work for us. We require companies working for us to protect your information. 

How does Central Securities collect my personal information? 

We collect your personal information, for example, when you open an account. 

Why can’t I limit all sharing? 

Federal law gives you the right to limit only: 

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes 
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you 
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

Central Securities does not have affiliates, so these items do not apply. State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. See below for more on your rights under state law.

What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else? 

Your choices will apply to everyone on your account. 

Definitions

Affiliates 

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. 

  • Central Securities does not have any affiliates. 

Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Central Securities does not share with nonaffiliates so that they can market to you. 

Joint marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • Central Securities doesn’t jointly market.

State Laws: 


VT: Accounts with a Vermont mailing address are automatically treated as if they have limited the sharing as described on page 1. For joint marketing, we will only disclose your name, contact information and information about your transactions. 

NV: We are providing you this notice pursuant to Nevada law.
